About me

I am a licensed amateur radio operator living in Melbourne, Australia and have a basic station at my home. My local QRM is significant and I can’t put up much of an antenna system, so the attraction of operating portable is significant. The SOTA programme provides an excellent excuse to get out in the fresh air, climb mountains and operate radios in a virtually noise free environment.

Professionally I’m a management consultant with an electrical engineering background, and continue to use my engineering skills through my radio and electronics hobby. I also enjoy the outdoors – skiing, hiking, fishing and diving.

I enjoy designing and building both radio and non-radio projects and coding the software to drive them. This blog documents my SOTA adventures and some of my projects that may be of general interest.
